Stuttgart’s leading goal scorer in the Bundesliga, Serhou Guirassy, will be sidelined for several weeks due to a left hamstring injury.
Stuttgart has suffered a significant setback with their Bundesliga top-scorer, Serhou Guirassy, who is set to miss several weeks due to a left hamstring injury.
Stuttgart confirmed on Sunday that the in-form Guirassy sustained a “minor muscle injury at the back of the left thigh” and will be unavailable for “several weeks.”
This injury occurred shortly after the 27-year-old Guinean forward scored the opening goal in Stuttgart’s 3-0 victory against Union Berlin on Saturday.
Guirassy’s goal marked his 14th in just eight Bundesliga matches this season.
“Serhou’s absence is a tough blow for both him personally and our team,” stated Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß. “Everyone witnessed the remarkable form he was in recently. We are determined to make up for his absence as effectively as possible.”
Guirassy’s contributions significantly contributed to Stuttgart’s winning streak of six consecutive games. As a result, the team currently sits second in the Bundesliga standings after eight rounds, trailing Bayer Leverkusen by a single point and leading defending champion Bayern Munich by one point.
